Baby!

If you voted July 1, take a bow. We had our little boy on Tuesday evening and Alexander William weighed in at a healthy 8lb 13oz. He was a big boy, but was ready to visit the world as labor was only 4+ hours from the time we reached the hospital. Mom and baby are doing wonderfully - (both are sleeping as I type, for those of you who are saying “Why are you typing on the first day home from the hospital???). Yes, I lost the middle name battle - but it’s hard to push an opinion over a lady who had to carry the kid for 9 months and give birth to him - I just counted to 10 a bunch of times and brought over water.

Alex is proving to be a smart kid. Besides the occasional flatulence, he has learned to read, write, compute basic math, create and give secret handshakes, make mac and cheese (he’s not a chef), write greeting card slogans, manage a budget, and he’s a whiz on the piano. I wonder what he’ll learn next week.
