Free Rita’s Water Ice!!!

Rita’s Water Ice opened down the road from me a few weeks ago and I’m pretty hooked - I’ve been there 3 times in the past week. For those of you who’ve never had it, they are a Philly-based company (I think), so I first had Rita’s when I went to college. A year or two ago, Rita’s opened up down from my parents’ home in NJ, and my dad quickly got hooked. Now, they’re near me. Their ices are much more liquid-y - somewhere in between italian ices and a slurpee. They also have custard, and make shakes and other mixes. I stick with the regular water ices.

With that introduction, today is free Rita’s Water Ice day to celebrate the first day of spring. Check it out. You’ll like it. My favorite flavors are blueberry, black cherry, and a mix between root beer and vanilla. If you get a fruit flavored ice, try to get one with pieces of fruit inside.
